EunJoo Shin's Biography |
|
EunJoo Shin is a media artist, researcher and lecturer. She received BFA from Ewha Womens University in Korea. She continued to study Interior Architecture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and completed her master degree from School of Visual Art in New York.
She has currently invested in her interests surrounding the “biological human.” Upon researching and simplifying biological mechanisms, she represents these mechanisms visually and audibly with software and hardware applications. The original capabilities of the biological and physical activities, such as talking, blinking, breathing, etc. are enhanced and exaggerated in her representations. People can easily enjoy the interactive communication at the public installations of her works.
Her artwork has been featured in many venues all over the world, including FILE 2009 in Brasil, the IF Museum Inner Spaces in Poland, Clayarch Gimhae Museum, Youngeun Comtemporary Musuem and Seoul Art Center in Korea, 700IS Reindeerland Experimental Festival, SIPA art fair, Redhead gallery (LMCC), NY.
Her recent work, Vocal Trio, was selected as one of the best interactive designs in the annual design yearbook, CREATIO, which is published by the Korean Federation of Design Associations. |
